2021 vision boards
The start of the New Year often comes with many of us sitting down and deciding New Year resolutions which normally revolve around, eating less, drinking less and exercising more. However, this year we should be focusing on dreaming up about our future and what we want to achieve long-term. Vision boards have become increasingly popular to help motivate us to stay on track and achieve what we want, to bring what is on them to life. With us still being in lockdown and with once again nowhere to go, this is the perfect activity to do on a Sunday afternoon, to help plan your future for when normality returns.
So, cozy on up, grab blankets, a coffee, your journal and lets start manifesting your dream future life.
The popular book The Secret states, "The law of attraction is forming your entire life experience and it is doing that through your thoughts. When you are visualizing, you are emitting a powerful frequency out into the Universe."
The main focus of a vision board is to visually set out your dreams for the future. You’ll want to include images that show your dream holiday destination, house, dream routines, your dream job and where you’ll work, your dream pet, how financially stable you’ll be, where you’ll live, and all the things you would absolutely love to achieve. The idea is, that every morning you can look at your vision board and it will help motivate you and inspire you to take action. Make it as personal as you want, they can be huge things or tiny things, or a mixture of both. Remember, this is your dream life so go big!
There are many ways you can create these vision boards, firstly you can print out the images and stick them onto a physical board which you can then hang up in your house/bedroom. This way, every day you walk past it and it will help remind you or what you dreaming about and deviating your life too. Another great idea is to create your vision board on your phone or laptop and then set it as your wallpaper. As we spend a lot of our time on our phones or laptops, for work or pleasure, this is the perfect place to continuously view it.
Mentally, this is such a positive, relaxing and exciting activity. What a dreamy afternoon to spend some time sitting down and decide what you want. This helps to guide you and decide what it is you want from life. While it’s a fun and creative way to spend a solo afternoon, it’s even an activity you can do with kids. Encourage them to dream big. There’s no pressure here, but create your board however big or small. It’s your dream life, your vision board and your time. You do you!
Vision boards can link with manifesting, which is a topic we will definitely be covering another day. But, the idea of visualising what you want, helps motivate and inspire you to work and make decisions which are in alignment for the future you.
