CAN YOU GET RID OF CELLULITE JUST WITH EXERCISE?

So many workouts and personal trainers claim to blast cellulite, declaring that with the right moves you can target those problem areas and you’ll be orange peel free. But, can exercise really get rid of cellulite? With so many fit bodies still sporting those skin-dimples, and ASOS’s newly photo-shop free images showing that even the thinnest of us have cellulite too, I can’t help but feel these spot-blasting exercise are a bit of a farce!

The Lowdown

Unfortunately, due to cellulite being the result of fat-storing hormones only us women are burdened with, to some extent our genetics determine how much cellulite we will have – and some of us are just destined to have more than others, no matter how hard we work.

BUT… there are ways to reduce its appearance (phew!)

Diet

Eating a low-fat diet of lean protein and vegetables will help not only lose body fat but prevent further excess fat from being stored in your body. Lowering your carb and sugar intake, as well as processed food and alcohol, will also help.

Strength Training

By firming the muscle underneath the layer of cellulite, you’ll help to smooth out your skins appearance. Focus on exercises that build muscle in your quads, buttocks, hips and hamstrings – if your skin is pulled tightly over your toned muscles there won’t be any room for dimpling!

Circulation

Enhancing your circulation by getting massages, alternating your shower between hot and cold, and getting massages will prevent new fat building up.

Cardio

Although this won’t help target your cellulite directly, it will help you to burn fat, lose weight, and improve the overall appearance of your cellulite as well as your confidence.

Massage

Massaging the area firmly is also known to reduce the appearance of cellulite by breaking down what has built up so that it can be properly absorbed by your body. However, this process can be long, gruelling, and a little bit painful!

 Laser Treatments

Alternatively, cellulite removal lasers have been clinically proven to be very effective, working by targeting the cellulite beneath the skin and breaking it down with radio frequency and InfraRed. However, if a salon treatment will break the bank, why not try a home cellulite treatment like Assome!’s new anti-cellulite laser. It also comes with a 3-month supply of conductive gel, by the end of which you should be cellulite free!
